August 18 – September 6 at the Federation of Canadian Artists gallery in Granville Island (Vancouver).

Participate in a collective work of Art with Sophie Babeanu (Expressive Art Facilitator) and Sandrine Pelissier (Professional Mixed Media Artist).

Together we will create a meaningful and beautiful cross section of a tree representation, made of concentric lines of your words of wisdom.

You will experience a fun, imaginary time travel and have the opportunity to share a few thoughts  on our collaborative work of Art titled : Time Lines

Every participant will be entered in a draw and run the chance to win this unique piece of Art.

After the event, we will also sell prints with all proceeds going to our local food bank.
Please bring a non perishable food item to support them.

I was happy to learn that “Terra Incoginta” and “Imagined Reality” will be exhibited at the the Harmony Art Festival 2015 exhibition “Exploring balance in art: Harmony and Discord”.

Thank you Cherie Haas for writing this article on a mixed media technique I am sharing in Fearless watercolor for beginners.

You can try this technique, it helps not focusing on details and paint loosely.

I was very happy to learn that Imagined Reality has been selected for publication in North Light Books’ AcrylicWorks 3: Celebrating Texture edited by Jamie Markle.

Click here to see the winners’ announcement on to view the selected works.

See the AcrylicWorks series here on the North Light Books store.

Simply Drawing is the life drawing group I am co-organizing with Anna du Bois in my North Vancouver studio. Our first annual exhibition is coming up, we will have a selection of paintings inspired by life drawing as well as drawings made in class by our artists.

If you ever considered joining our group and wanted to see the studio and meet some of our artists, this is a great opportunity to do so.

Painting and framed drawings at various prices, drawings will start at 5 dollars.

Join us for this fun event!

Opening on Friday: 6 pm to 9 pm
Open Saturday: 10 am to 5 pm

125 Garden Avenue in North Vancouver.

I will display some of my “Life Patterns” paintings as well as drawings.

I had the pleasure yesterday of receiving my copy of “Just Add Watercolor” by Helen Birch.

I love it when Artists are using watercolor to make fresh and contemporary looking paintings! This book has a great selection of such works, very inspiring.

One of my painting is featured, it is called “Morning Walk” and sold two years ago at the Anonymous Art Show in North Vancouver. I don’t know who bought it 🙂

Buy “Just add Watercolor” on the Amazon website here:

“Freighters” and “Tugboats” will be exhibited in “The Boat Show” at the Cityscape Art Gallery in North Vancouver from May 22 to July 4.

Join us at the opening on Thursday May 21 from 7 to 9 pm, it is going to be a very exciting show 🙂

“Freighters” is featured in my book “Fearless Watercolor for Beginners: Adventurous Painting Techniques to Get You Started”, available for preorder on

This painting is one of the two paintings I made while shooting my online class:
Painting Flowers from imagination in mixed media.

It’s done!
Delicate Abundance
Acrylic, watercolor, gouache and India Ink on canvas
48 x 48 inches

This is a school of salmon fry. I was working on this painting just as we got an freighter oil spill here in Vancouver in beautiful English Bay. This is just a reminder that what seems abundant in nature is actually threatened.

And here is a short video of the making of this painting.
