About

Sandrine Pelissier is a Canadian artist originally from France with an established painting practice and a growing focus on contemporary ceramics.

Her work across painting, ceramics, and printmaking explores the rhythm of lines and the language of patterns.

It is an elegant study in contrast, exploring the tension between meticulous, hand-drawn patterns and the asymmetry of organic forms.

Originally from France, Sandrine has made North Vancouver her creative home for 23 years. Her mixed-media paintings are widely exhibited and collected across Canada and internationally. These works are part of the Vancouver Art Gallery’s Art Rentals and Sales program and published in numerous art books and magazines.

In recent years, she has extended her focus to ceramics, creating sought-after wheel-thrown, hand-built, and cast pottery. Her functional pieces are defined by a minimalist aesthetic, drawing inspiration from Japanese and Scandinavian design. She celebrates simple forms, organic textures, and the perfectly imperfect nature of handmade work, often highlighting natural elegance by leaving raw clay exposed.

Beyond the studio, Sandrine is a dedicated arts educator and community advocate. She is the author of three popular art instruction books and connects with thousands of artists monthly through her blog, paintingdemos.com. She is a co-founder of the North Shore Art Crawl and a leader of a weekly life drawing group, consistently championing her belief that creativity is for everyone and a powerful tool for expression and connection.
